Jess's Review ~ Heartbreak Me by T.L. Smith

Heartbreak Me (Heartbreak Duet, #1)
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Well, this was not what I expected, it was much more.

Atlas is a cold, unforgiving man. He is owed a lot of money and he plays with those who owe him. He dabbles in many things, not all on the up and up. He can come across as a jerk and even when the story is told from his POV there is something very standoffish about him. His mind is a dark place and he is all about the right here and now when it comes to women. Then he meets Theodora and things get a bit more complicated.

Theodora is a good girl. The responsible sister, the hard worker, the steady one. She has taken care of her sister's messes for as long as she can remember, so when Thea is informed her sister has a debt she needs to pay off she doesn't hesitate. Well maybe a little, given who she finds herself indebted to. While Thea might be the good girl, the ray of sunshine, she is far from a pushover. She is bold and strong and even stands up to the man who now calls all the shots.

This story went places I didn't see coming and left you in place that I didn't quite understand. I am sure book two will clear it all up, but to left like head is coming up with all sorts of crazy scenarios. I really enjoy this author's creativity and storytelling style. This was dark, with some suspense, a whole lot of fiery chemistry, and about 100 questions.
