Jess's Review ~ Ice by Scarlett Black

Ice (Royal Bastards MC: Elko, NV #1)
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

This is my 2nd book of this series and first ever by this author.

Ice is the president of the Elko Royal Bastards and his road name is well deserved because he is cold. He is an older character and one that just hasn't ever felt like settling down. Not that he could find someone to put up with him for very long and it just never seemed in the cards for him. He is brutal in not only his club dealing but in life as well. Being sent on a babysitting mission is not all that his little trip to Vegas is meant to be.

Harley is a widower and getting a second chance to live, to be free, to experience something that has been long forgotten. What would be the perfect experience in Vegas has turned into something she never anticipated, with someone she isn't quite sure if she likes. Harley is cheeky at times and gives as good as she gets.

This story had a lot of boiling over chemistry, a lot of push and pull from our characters and a whole lot of club business. While this does read as a standalone, I still felt like I was missing some things from the other players. There were parts that resolved a bit quickly and some things I found a bit repetitive. It did leave me feeling like I wanted to explore this Battle Born MC a bit more though.
