Jess's Review ~ Mine by Natasha Knight & A Zavarelli

Mine (Ties that Bind, #1) My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an ending...

I have read both of these authors before and when I saw that they collaborated I did a little happy dance. Knight writes some of my favorite mafia books and Zavarelli has written some of my favorite dark suspense stories and now they had a book baby and I really enjoyed it.

Lev is our leading man. Working for his uncle who is part of the mafia. Lev is the clean-up guy, the good soldier, the one hell-bent on finding out what happened to his mother. He also owns Delirium, a place full of bad decisions and people. Katerina was just there to blow off some steam with her best friend and so our little journey begins.

Kat is more than meets the eye. She has demons and is feisty. She still harbors nightmares from a troubled past and there is something dangerous about Lev that she is drawn to. What should be a quick, no feeling involved affair turns into so much more when bad people get involved.

This was a suspenseful story that had me waiting for the other shoe to drop. There were twists and turns. Lev turns into a character I didn't anticipate which made me like him all the more. Along with the twists, there was an undeniable heat and dangerous edge to the story that I couldn't get enough of. Kat and Lev are hot together even when they are fighting. I cannot wait to see what went down in what I anticipate being an explosive book two.
