Shy's Review ~ My Beautiful Neighbor by Piper Rayne

My Beautiful Neighbor (The Greene Family, #1)My Beautiful Neighbor by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A good kick off to a new series. Those were my first thoughts after finishing My Beautiful Neighbor. There were so many good things working in the story.

I loved the secret child twist. And having read the series prequel My Twist of Fortune, I really liked how that ending played into this story.

I'm a fan of small town romance, as well as big family series. And Piper Rayne is so good at both of those. I enjoyed the cameos from the Baileys and hope there are many more of those to come.

I also just loved Cade and Presley. I felt for her uprooting her life after getting surprising news. I admired her strength and really liked her character. Cade as well was likable as a nice guy, great big brother and oldest son, and I thought their pairing was a great fit. I also liked that Cade kicked off the Greene children finding love. I will be excitedly awaiting each new story in this series and highly recommend this one.

Shy's Review ~ Truth Be Told by Marie James

Truth Be Told (Blackbridge Security, #4)Truth Be Told by Marie James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Marie James has got to be one of the few authors that I start off my book review by saying OMG I love that bird. Especially when this book is not about birds. But since starting this series I feel like every review contains that sentence in some way shape or form. Puff Daddy has got to be the most hilarious character that Marie James has ever written. And he's a freaking bird. He definitely steals the show in whatever scene he's in but it always brings a fantastic levity to the moment no matter what's going on. And this book definitely had several moments where levity was needed. This story dealt with several very hard subjects. From childhood trauma, to losing parents and loved ones, to secret children and so many more. But as usual it was written in that special way that this author has that has you completely engaged in the story. I was hooked within the first few pages. Even when I was a little bit nervous that I might not like one of the main characters depending on how everything was handled. But of course it was handled perfectly to have me rooting for everyone's happy ending by the end. This was such a great story and once again I'm excited for what's to come.

Shy's Review ~ Return to Us by Corinne Michaels

Return to UsReturn to Us by Corinne Michaels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once again I was quickly pulled in by a Corinne Michaels book. This time a second chance romance that had me all in my feels.

The two main characters were childhood sweethearts who went their separate ways after high school. It wasn't an amicable split and they tried very hard to avoid even the mention of each other in their small town after that.

They were brought back together under very unusual circumstances.

But it was clear very quickly on that they had an undeniable pull to each other.

Despite how they ended, they love was still there. It didn't take me long to love both of them too. I actually loved many of the characters on this story along with the plot. There was so much emotion and great dialog and just was a really great story. I look forward to the next story in the series that was perfectly setup at the end of this one.

Shy's Review ~ East Bound by Nana Malone

East Bound: Billionaire Romance (Hear No Evil Trilogy Book 2)East Bound: Billionaire Romance by Nana Malone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What the heck did I just read!!! I feel like I was put through the ringer with this one. But the good, book lover kind.

I, of course, was frustrated with East after the events at the end of book one. And this book jumped right in picking up where it left off. So I knew Nyla's side of things and my heart broke for her.

Within moments I was right back in the thick of things. I needed to know how things would be fixed with them. And I needed to know what was next.

Every new twist was just the next thing keeping me hooked and the pages turning. Unsurprisingly, once I started this book I couldn't stop reading until I was done. And then I was trying to pick my jaw up from shock and wanted to know what the heck had just happened.

It was just such a thrilling, steamy, emotional, but utterly captivating book. Now I need book three. I need a resolution to that cliffhanger.

Shy's Review ~ Call Me Crazy by Melanie Harlow

Call Me Crazy (Bellamy Creek, #3)Call Me Crazy by Melanie Harlow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Call Me Crazy is an excellent addition to the Bellamy Creek series. It was one I was looking forward to, especially after the events of book two. Enzo and Bianca did kind of have that meant to be feel. Even if they didn't get along as kids and drove each other crazy as adults. They had a serious spark and an obvious attraction. I loved how even though their plan was spur of the moment, they still sat down to think about important details and they had some get to know you time. My heart broke for both of them when certain things went wrong, and if I hadn't already been a fan of Enzo, his sensitivity and care of Bianca during those moments would have been turning the tides for me. I enjoyed how often the couples from the previous two books were featured in this one and also the small town, close knit community they had. Both Bianca and Enzo had great friends to support them and that's always a plus for me. I know there's at least one more book to come in this series and I'm excited to see how that one will play out after loving the ones I've gotten so far.

Release Blitz ~ Conceited Concierge by Renea Porter

Title: Conceited Concierge
A Cocky Hero Club Novel
Author: Renea Porter
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 28, 2021

Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are excited to bring you the Cocky Hero Club: original works from various authors inspired by Keeland and Ward's New York Times bestselling Cocky Bastard series.

A fresh start in Temecula, CA was exactly what I needed to get over my breakup. I was looking forward to Palm Trees, fine wine, the beaches and killer sunsets. But I never expected to run into handsome Levi Bateman while still on my way to California. The last thing I needed was a conceited passenger. I had a job to focus on.

I knew Levi would be a distraction because we would be working in close proximity. He was so sure of himself, resisting him was even harder. Not only did I have a job to focus on, I had a broken heart to mend and I was ten years older than Levi. There was too much baggage between the both of us.

Besides I didn’t know if I’d be staying in Temecula after the job was complete.
All good things must come to end.
Maybe before it even started.
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Shy's Review ~ My One Week Husband by Lauren Blakely

My One Week HusbandMy One Week Husband by Lauren Blakely
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this one. Really really loved it. I knew there had to be a good story for Daniel. Some baggage in his past. But I didn't expect what it was. I also didn't expect to love him and Scarlett so much. Both characters had more layers and depth then I was expecting. I loved their role play and escapades as well.

I honestly really liked the way Lauren Blakely wrote this one. A relationship built in just one week might have been a bit hard to swallow, but she went about it perfectly. The time spent together during the week was steamy and highly entertaining but it was more a revelation then the whole basis for the relationship.

Overall this was a great story and I can't wait for more.
