Erin's Review ~ Ruckus by L.J. Shen

Ruckus (Sinners of Saint, #2)Ruckus by L.J. Shen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to admit, not only was I beyond excited for the next Sinners of Saint book, I was also a bit cautious. I mean, this is Dean and Rosie. We all know Dean's history with Emilia and we know about Rosie's health, so I was interested in finding out how it would all play out. I don't know why I was hesitant to start this one because as soon as I dove in, I was completely captivated and swallowed up by Ruckus and Baby LeBlanc. I can't even express how much I loved this book.
Missed chances. Miles of history. A future where nothing is promised. Can two people with secrets and what seems like light years of obstacles find a way passed it all? Is their future written in the stars or destined to fizzle out?
Both Rosie and Dean have been quite enigmatic characters so I was eager to get a closer look and really delve into who they are. I was not disappointed. Shen always delivers incredibly bold characters. They aren't always lovable, to be honest, there are times that they aren't even likable, but that's all a part of what makes them so complex and intriguing. It's their flaws that make them so perfect. Throughout the story we see the way they evolve, both individually and as a couple. The push and pull between them created such sweet tension. All of this, paired with Shen's signature writing style made Ruckus impossible to put down.
This story was a whirlwind of excitement and heartache. A beautiful, tragic, twisted love story that owned every piece of me.
