Shy's Review ~ Roommates with Benefits by Nicole Williams

Roommates with BenefitsRoommates with Benefits by Nicole Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My favorite thing about this NA romance was the leading man Soren. He hit all the important book boyfriend buckets for me. Plus, how do you pass up a baseball player?

In this story, Soren and Hayden are brought together when she answers his ad for a roommate in New York City. The two instantly bump heads but the bickering soon becomes tinged with attraction. These two both have big dreams, and a relationship could derail all that. Plus, if they take a chance and everything goes wrong, their roommate situation becomes even more uncomfortable.

The recurring theme in this story for me was how fantastic Soren was. He was funny and dedicated and protective and just great. Hayden was written as a very inexperienced character in many ways. And she had a lot of baggage to deal with and grow from. While neither character was perfect, which I wouldn't want, she was obviously the more flawed of the two.

I really enjoyed a lot of the elements of this book. The every day things like cooking and navigating the subway that were used to develop the relationship. The secondary characters like Hayden's model friends and Soren's brothers. The slow but realistic development of things. It all equaled out to a really good read.
