Jess's Review ~ From the First Verse by M. Robinson

From the First Verse (Life of Debauchery, #1) My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Huh...well heart is still somewhere lost inside of this book so I'm not sure where to go from here.

It hasn't been that long since I have read one of Ms. Robinson's book but damn I forgot how they consume me. They are brutal on the heartstrings and pull you into this deep and emotional world. This is one I felt, which is why my heart is still in the pages and I am out here dealing with the world.

Cash McGraw has been destined for greatness since a young age. The journey to get there though has been paved in thorns and blood. He is currently at the top of his world. Loved by millions, drowning at the bottom of the bottle and chase one high after another. This was the story of how he got there and while I did not always see his side of things, man, was it tough not to hurt for him.

Journey Pierce has been this bright light in more than just this book. With her never-ending dance moves to the curiosity of everything. She has been in love with Cash for her whole life. He was her first crush, first best friend, her first heartbreak. Now that she is no longer a little girl she finds herself face-to-face with what happens when your dreams come true but you got lost along the way.

This leaves in a place that was unexpected and I am really unsure where in the world things go from here. I am happy for the mini-break though because seriously I don't think my soul would have survived it in one go. There is so much that is broken that fixing it might just be impossible. Ms. Robinson definitely had me. I wanted this story, I wanted to see what became of the best-friend. I don't think I was ready but it was one hell of a ride.
