Jess's Review ~ XV: (Fifteen) by Lana Sky

XV: (Fifteen) (War of Roses #1)XV: (Fifteen) by Lana Sky
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

I am not even sure where to begin. There was some messed up stuff happening in this book. If you are looking for a romance, stop, this is not it. If you are looking for sunshine and roses, this is not it, so move on. If you are looking for something, that hours later you still can't wrap your head around what just went down, then yeah this is that type of book.

I like dark and diabolical, I like books that make me question my own morals so I was excited to dive into this one. I can say, I was not expecting what I got at all. There were parts that had me a bit confused and things that just did not make sense. Or at least I couldn't make sense of them.

Ellen is taken by mistake. Believed to be her half-sister, she is stolen away by some really bad men. Because little does she know, she has found herself in the middle of a war that can only end with death. Mischa is in charge of her capture. He is ruthless and cold. He has marked her as number fifteen and as such she doesn't have a lot of time left.

This was written in Ellen's POV. I do wish that there was some of Mischa because he was so hard to read and there was no telling what he was thinking, ever. This was more a psychological thriller than anything else, but DARK, like really dark. Things are left unsettled in some ways and I hope that the pieces that I still can't figure out are sorted in the next book. Overall this was one of those reads that make you notice, there was no quiet corner to tuck away in, it was all very much heart pounding and bloody.
