Shy's Review ~ Sweet Little Nothing by L.K. Farlow

Sweet Little NothingSweet Little Nothing by L.K. Farlow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been a fan of LK Farlow for a while, and this book certainly won’t be changing that. While she definitely went a very different direction then past books of hers, specifically a bit darker, I enjoyed the new story.

This book definitely falls into the bully romance category. The leading man Sterling sets out to torture and punish the leading lady Emmy for her perceived transgressions at the urging of his best friend Robert. But Sterling isn’t aware of the horrors she’s suffered during her childhood. Horrors that are continuing to haunt her in the present despite her attempt at a fresh start.

The turning point in their relationship is well written. I liked the fact that it kind of seemed to sneak up subtly and then suddenly club Sterling over the head. However, I’m not sure that Sterling will go down as one of my favorite of LK Farlow’s leading men. While I do like that he made a clear effort to be better to Emmy once he realized the truth, I kind of felt like she could have made him work harder for redemption. He deserved it and she deserved so much more after what she went through. But he did redeem himself and that’s what’s really important.

I did however absolutely love Emmy’s friends Gabe, Zach and Stella. They not only proved themselves to be great friends, but they also came through so many times and it was a big part of my enjoyment of the story. Overall this was very good and I’d highly recommend it to fellow bully romance fans.
