L.A. Cotton is an amazing author! I feel the need to start my review with that sentence, rather than the first words I said after finishing this book which were “oh my goodness, what was that”! Then again, it was very fitting. This book was utter goodness. It was fantastic with two flawed, imperfect characters that most would never think would be the perfect fit. And yet they were the perfect fit.

“He gave me courage and I gave him strength” – Lily Ford

That was probably one of the best lines of the book and it stuck with me because it was a strong example of Kaiden and Lily’s relationship. They were the jock and the wall flower. There was bad blood in their history. And their present didn’t seem to mesh well together let alone their futures. But the way this story was written, the way the plot flowed, the dialog and the emotions and just everything about this story made me a believer in Kaiden and Lily.

It was great seeing characters I loved from the original Rixon Raiders series in a whole new light. I was a little worried going in on how I’d feel about a next generation series. But if this first book is anything to go by, this is going to be just as epic as that was. Especially after the ending of this story. I am even more excited for book two then I ever thought I could be.
